It’s been a massive build up to this weekend and we finally got on the park for a full first day’s play.

We lost the toss and were told to bowl first. Fair to say we were very happy to do so and feel value in how it has played out so far. The boys all bowled sharp and to the point, and were supported by an upbeat crew who were tight in the field and pounced on everything, keeping boundaries to a minimum. Ryan’s figures don’t make the pic, but you can’t argue that 1/19 from 10 isn’t best on sort of cricket so far! Great stats from Deepan and Barry too.

Our first wicket also went in the third, but we upped the anti a little, pushing more runs around the field, with DC and Cam both looking the goods but exiting earlier than expected, and Barry playing it smooth to bat on again tomorrow, finishing the day with a 27 run lead.

The bar will be open all afternoon, with plenty of sports on inside, and we’ll conclude the evening with match reports and celebrate the end of the cricket season.
